Biography
Alana joined Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation as Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations in March 2018. In this role she designs and implements creative strategies and solutions to substantially grow corporate and foundation support. Prior to joining the Foundation, Alana served as the Director of Strategic Education Initiatives at Carnegie Science Center where she developed and launched new programs focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. In addition to her expertise in health care philanthropy, Alana has had a strong focus in museums, education, and youth development and has worked at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, AMD3 Foundation, 3 Rivers Connect, The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust in New York, and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC.
Alana earned her B.A. at Duke University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Cultural Anthropology and French. She was the recipient of a Graduate Teaching Scholarship at George Washington University where she received her M.A. in Anthropology and Museum Studies and taught undergraduate courses in Cultural Anthropology.
